How SystemPath publishes food safety guidance
Our editorial credits tell you who wrote a page, who checked its food safety substance, and which version received that check. This policy explains what each credit means.

Who writes
Steven Moussawer writes from an operator's point of view. He runs a food safety program in an SQF-certified manufacturing facility and is responsible for the judgment behind his published work.
We use AI drafting assistance for research organization, outlines, and early copy. Steven checks the sources, challenges the claims, rewrites the draft, and approves the final page before anything publishes. AI does not receive an author credit and does not make the publication decision.

Who reviews
Jeffrey Strout, MPH, RS/REHS, CP-FS, is SystemPath's Food Safety Director and a Former SQF Lead Auditor with a 49-year audit career.
Jeff reviews AI-assisted and Steven-authored pieces when his subject-matter check is shown on the page. He checks technical claims, regulatory framing, and whether the guidance holds up in a real facility.
A Jeffrey Strout author byline means he was the substantive author, not only a reviewer. A separate "Reviewed by Jeffrey Strout" line means he checked the published version but another named author wrote it.

What "Last reviewed" means
"Last reviewed" records a content check tied to the version the reviewer saw. It is not a general endorsement of every future edit to that URL.
After a material edit, the reviewer credit comes off until the revised version is reviewed again. This keeps a past approval from appearing on copy that changed after the check.

Corrections
Food safety guidance should get more accurate when readers find a problem. Send factual errors, unclear claims, or source concerns to [email protected].
We review the concern against the page and its sources. When a correction changes the substance of reviewed copy, the prior review credit is removed until the updated version receives another check.
